applet xxx not inited....?????

I have an issue with a java applet i created. I created it using Netbeans 5.5 through the GUI builder. I used drag and drop methods, just included the java.swing library. It extends javax.swing.japplet. My applet compiles, however when i try to view it in the browser, i keep getting this message saying: applet xxxx notinited ?? does this sound familiar to anyone ???
