applet for obtaining the IP address

I have used a website that has a java applet that is able to obtain both the WAN and the LAN IP address of a connecting computer.....does anyone have the code that they can send me so I can see how it works? or if anyone has just the code that obtains these 2 IP address, I would be most greatful.

BTW.....The applet was able to obtain my actual IP address (the one issued by the ISP) even though I was using either SOCKS or a Proxy to try and mask my IP.
