ApEx user interface design best practices

Greetings all...

There may be threads on this topic already, but I couldn't find any. Maybe this isn't even a fair question... not sure.

I'm interested in seeing some examples of what people think is a good web design layout. I know I can find all kinds of examples if I just google for "user interface design" or "web design" etc., but pretty much all of those examples relate to websites that deal with displaying text and images as content to the user. Within ApEx, we tend to create applications which utilitize data input moreso than displaying graphics and text to the user. There is more of a text- and data-centric element to (at least our) ApEx pages.

Does anyone know of any good examples of sites design around sites which are more application-centered rather than content-centered?

Not sure if that makes sense or not. Remember... I'm an old Oracle Forms designer, so I have limited creativity. :)

Shane.
