APEX Session ID

Hi Guys,

I am trying to find and retrieve the session id of an APEX application so that I can use the session id later to stop a user having to sign in again. Ever since SSL was put onto the environment the application is running from, every time you click the home button it makes you sign in again. Passing the session id into the URL when the home button is pressed should stop this.

Any help on how to get the session id is appreciated
