apex_public_user using lots of CPU and memory

blue72TAJul 8 2011 — edited Jul 12 2011
Hello All,

Apex version 3.1.2.00.02 in conjunction with Oracle Applications 11.5.10.2

Our DBAs are telling us that at times the APEX_PUBLIC_USER is using the bullk of CPU and memory on our development box. I'm fairly new to APEX especially when it comes to a situation such as tuning/performance.

From what I understand and have read on this forum APEX uses session pooling and that it doesn't even keep a constant open connection to the database, yet the DBA says the top 4 sessions were for apex_public_user, making it sound as if there were 4 current connections.

Can anyone provide any tips or share any thoughts on what might be going on? Might these just be dead/zombie sessions that are still hogging resources? Are there parameters that can be tweaked that would solve this problem?

Thanks Much!
