Apex: Pivot/Excel integration

With Apex I can build/export report ...
My trouble it's in using pivot table, I'm tring with Excel.
No problem with little table, but some of this may have 300K rows, and if I try to export this in excel it's very slow.
This using the export in "csv" feature.
May work well using "Print Attributes"? (that needs BI integration ...)
If I get this table from Excel using OleDB it works fine.(very nice) (but I've to give Db account to users ...)
I wish to give to the user only Apex account, and Apex application.
But I don't know if I'm asking from Apex features that are not correct.(not "his job")
