Apex - Joomla - Xampp

Developing a webiste with a partner who wants Joomla CMS features, and I want Apex for the "operational" system.

Has anyone integrated an Apex application in a Joomla region/Window?

And what about Xampp? Can Apex use the same Apache installed by xampp -or- can xampp be installed to use the Apache from Oracle?
