APEX and Middleware integration

I know ADF is better choice for Oracle Middleware development. But I have been frustrated by it for past three weeks.

Now, I turn to APEX. Can APEX work with Middleware, for example, integrated into WebCenter, or invoke BPEL service of SOA? Any materials for that?
