APEX 3.0 "Invalid Login Credentials" after install

Hello.

We are installing Oracle Application Express and believe we are fairly close to getting it to function correctly. However when we try to login to the "apex_admin" screen we get "Invalid Login Credentials" whenever we use a login id of "admin".

We have tried several things that others have posted including the new apxxpwd.sql script, but we still can't get it to work. Is there any other userid we can try to login to this screen with? Are there any logfiles that may show up what's happening behind the scenes?
