any alternative other than top.location in Oracle configurator integration

Hi Guys,

I am trying to Integrate Oracle configurator in an ADF application, I followed the below URL to implement

But here my question is in checkout.jsp they are using top.location in java script to redirect to calling application, As it's loading the entire browser as it was top.location , Is there any other alternative to achieve above functionality?

Any help is greatly appreciated....:)
