Anti Affinity Groups & HA

Paul ThomasMar 13 2016 — edited Mar 13 2016

Hi,

I've just set up a two node RAC cluster which can run across 3 HA OVS servers.  I've set up an anti affinity group to ensure  the RAC nodes can not run on the same physical server.  However, I have spotted a potential issue.

A VM seems to be allocated to a OVS server even if its not currently running. I had RAC1 running on OVS1, and RAC2 stopped (but reported on OVS2)  If I try to migrate RAC1, only OVS3 is available, OCS2 is reported as not available as RAC2 is running on it.

Is there a way to automatically disconnect a VM from a server when it closes (equivalent to performing a migrate and selecting "remove from server") ? Or have I missed something?

Thanks

Paul
