Ant 1.4.1 with Java 1.4 on Windows XP/Pro

if i try to build or deploy an application or web under netbeans 3.3.x with build-in ant (1.4?), xp crashes the ide with an nt kernel error (16bit subsystem).

this happens only with java 1.4 rc / java 1.4 final...

it is also impossible to use ant standalone

are there any workarounds?
