Another Internet problem
807557Feb 25 2006 — edited Mar 6 2006I'm a noob to solaris 10 who just finished installing it, though probably not perfectly because I can't get my internet connection to work(it can't find any web pages). I looked at these links:
http://forum.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=27408
http://supportforum.sun.com/network/index.php?t=msg&goto=3916
that talk about this issue but I have trouble following it. For example, I don't have a "defaultrouter" dir under "etc", or a "router" dir under "default". They also mentioned setting solaris up to utilize dhcp(I think i said no during install not knowing what it was) but how do I find the name of my nic(network interface card?).
Does anyone have a link to step by step tutorial on setting up internet in solaris 10 on a home PC initially just running winXP? I have roadrunner cable internet with a router.
