Announcement:Australia DST
Please note that we have DST change in Australia from 29th March. Australia DST needs version 7 of the Oracle Time Zone files that are part of the Core DST patch.
Do not conduct DST testing (setting clock ahead prior to DST change over) in a production environment.
The affected states are only Tasmania, Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, South Australia, and Victoria. The time zones affected are-
Australia/Victoria
Australia/Melbourne
Australia/NSW
Australia/Sydney
Australia/Broken_Hill
Australia/South
Australia/Adelaide
Australia/Lord_Howe
Australia/Tasmania
Australia/Hobart
If you don’t fall under the above time zone then you will not be affected by the DST change.
Please follow the below steps to apply the patches for the Grid control components: -
1. Patch Repository Database
2. Patch the Oms
3. Patch the Agent
Patch the Repository Database
Refer to the -Note 471451.1 , section - Updated Time Zones in version 7 to see if you are in the affected time zone
If this is the case then apply the Patch 6672979 to the Repository Database.
Refer to the Note 549931.1 , section 5.5 Enterprise Manager Grid Control
Patch the Oracle Management Service
We need to updated time zone information in the JDK and/or JRE in the OMS Oracle Home.. For this follow the Step4 from the Note 409225.1.
We have 2 ways to patch the OMS ( OMS version< 10.2.0.4 ) :-
1. Apply database patch set 10.1.0.5, Patch 4505133 to the OMS home then apply the appropriate DST patch using patch 6672979 which ships with Opatch
2. Manually patch the OMS_ORACLE_HOME with the patch 6672979. This is not the recommended way as the database time zone transition file patch version will not be displayed in the Oracle Inventory
If your Oms is 10.2.0.4 then only apply the patch 6899947 to your OMS_HOME ,so that the agent also get capable of patching DST 7.( Patch will be uploaded soon on metalink)
Note- For windows, use manual method for applying the patch.

Patch the Agent
The agent version should be >=10.1.0.5 or >=10.2.0.0
If you want to apply the patch 6672979 through the Grid control patching wizard then you have to first apply patch for the bug 6888386 to all the OMS_Oracle_Home
Note- For windows, you cannot apply 6672979 via the patching wizard even after applying 6888386. So go to the bundle patch – 6901499 and extract the file and use the manual method for patching.
