An unexpected error has been detected by HotSpot Virtual Machine
843810Aug 15 2005 — edited Sep 2 2005On booting up, I noticed a text file on the Desktop which turned out to be an error log. Having not downloaded anything recently except a MSFT Critical Update [Successful Friday, August 12, 2005 Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 (KB896727) ] and in these days of Identity Theft, clones/slaves, and all kinds of malware, I got more than curious.
I then recalled on a previous [previous to installing the CU] bootup, the DOS screen for reconfiguring the Registry came up [oddly, since I had recently installed NOTHING !], and incidentally I have had Runtime Errors [which I HAD attributed to Direct-X] for quite some time, and a forum located via Google indicated it was the result of a PREVIOUS MSFT CU, which I took out of the Start Menu to no relief.
I Googled the HotSpot application, and indeed it looks like a valid JAVA program, but appears to be for Enterprise users, which I am not. Here's a copy of the first few lines--have I been hijacked, is this a standard JAVA app I just never noticed before, is it related to Runtime errors [popup error msg], or should I just delete the text file error log and just return to a normal life ? I can send the entire text log later if neccessary--Submit to: [ NMCS_Ron-----AT--------MyWay.com ] .
Thanks !! First-time Forums user..........RON
