Java EE (Java Enterprise Edition) General Discussion

Hi,
This is kind of an off topic question and I apologize in advance.

I have limited web development experience but recently put up a simple web site for a start-up. I used JSF and liked it a lot. Having said that, I'd like to learn more about web development. In particular, I am curious about what the industry standard for building interactive web site is? Is there a framework or approach that clearly dominates? Or do most companies mix various tools, languages and techniques?

Any (unbiased - please do not hesitate to direct me to a different forum/site if appropriate) opinion, reference, article?
