Alternative to Between..And Operator

Hi,

I want to know what is the alternative to Between ..and operator in SQL and how to use it.

As with Between..and it takes end date specified with "and" less by 1 and also if start-date and end-date are same, it does not work.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
