Oracle Database Discussions

Hi,
Is there a way to remove or clean out the alert log under Windows without shutting the database down? Windows won't let you do anything to a file if it is in use by another process. Both the alert log and the listener log are getting bigger and bigger, but I can't shut down production to clean them up.

In fact whenever I need to look at them I have to make a copy so I can open the file. But the log files are getting too big to open these days.
