Alert in Forms

Hi Experts,

I am working in forms 10g.

Requirement: I have date field, if i enter date greater than 9 days from sysdate, i need to show message and stop the user there, i think it can be achieved with alert, or any other solution, if it's alert, can you please help me how to develop.
