alert dialog problem during onkeyup event on a text box element

Hi,

I have a text box and i have a javascript that is associated using onkeyup event
The javascript simply displays an alert message.
In mozilla this pop-up does not vanish on pressing the esc/enter button.
It disappears only on pressing the space bar.
Howwver it works fine in IE.
Can somebody help me in resolving this issue?
