AJAX Region Pull not working in Internet Explorer!!!

I am not able to get the AJAX region pull working on IE 6.0. I see a "Object Required" error in the status bar. I followed all the instructions as per the following article. I am using Apex 3.1.

It's working beautifully in FireFox, Safari and Chrome. It's just this stupid IE. Can someone please help!
