Ajax Problem in dropdown list..

Hi All,

I am wroking om Apex-3.2 version..Here i am facing a problem..

In my apllication i have two select list, based on first select list the values will be populated on second list.. evry thing is working fine..but th eproblem whcih i am facing is..

From the first drop down list i have selected the value as 'xyz' the values got pouplated in second list as "abc"...
Now in first drop down list i have selected as default value as "--select--" this time the second list needs to get cleared and it should have value as --select'' but instaed of that it is showin the existing values...
