Agent port 3872 does not exit error message while installing agent 13c on a host

Hi,

I got this error message while Installing agent 13c on a host "Error Message:: Inventory pointer file AGENT_PORT=3872 does not exist. Exit Code :1"

I asked the unix team to open up the port , but they got back to me saying the application should open the port by itself during installation.  Has anyone encountered this problem before?
