Adump directory missing

Tim BOct 10 2012 — edited Oct 10 2012
Hi,

I am running on Windows XP SP2. There are multiple databases installed in this machine. Database Version is 10gR2. I would like to enable auditing on one of the databases.

When I checked for the audit_dump_dest, this parameter doesn't exist on this database. The adump folder was not created also in the admin directory where the other dump directories are located. I created a pfile from the spfile and no audit_dump_dest was there.

Can I just create an adump folder and then add the parameter audit_dump_dest to the pfile. Then, create an spfile based from that pfile to set the audit_dump_dest parameter in the database so I could proceed in setting up auditing for this server?

Regards,
Tim
