adump alternative??

I'd like to configure an instance of Oracle running on Solaris 10g such that the audit files can be written, but not read by the oracle account. Currently the audit file are writing to an directory called 'adump' that was created after the initial install. Obviously the directory permissions would need to be changed from the default. The goal is to prevent the in-house DBAs from having read access to the audit files (via the oracle account) that are being generated and written to the OS. We changed the permissions such that oracle wouldn't be able to read the directory, but could write to it...and the instance wouldn't start. Suggestions?

thx.
