ads_sasl_spnego_krb5_bind failed error when trying to join AD 2003 domain

2943780Mar 7 2017 — edited Apr 7 2017

I'm trying to join a Solaris 10 1/13 s10s_u11wos_24a SPARC server to Active Directory 2003.  I'm using Samba version 3.6.25 released in August 2016.  I can obtain a Kerberos ticket, but the net ads join command fails with a "kinit succeeded but ads_sasl_spnego_krb5_bind failed: NT_STATUS_NOT_SUPPORTED" error.  I copied the /etc/crypto/pkcs11.conf file from the global zone to my zone as suggested by Doc ID 1624663.1.  I've also tried adding the client ldap sasl wrapping = sign parameter to my smb.conf.  I ended up stripping my smb.conf down to basic required parameters, but the error stays the same.  Has anyone successfully solved this issue?
