adf mobile - jdeveloper 11.1.2.4.0 - running on Ubuntu 12.10

ADF Mobile Framework 11.1.2.4.29.64.39

I can deploy ADF mobile applications OK to my Android emulator but if I try to use the 'PREVIEW' tab to view the AMX file i get the following exception

SEVERE: Cannot render untitled1.amx file in the preview Pane. Encountered exception: "java.lang.IllegalStateException: Toolkit not initialized"
