ADF Faces question

Is there any way to get around having to add the /faces directory path to the URL when developing faces pages? I tried adding it to the J2EE web context root but it didn't work in jdev. Also, has anyone ran this tutorial successfully(http://www.oracle.com/technology/oramag/oracle/04-nov/o64jsf.html)? I am having difficulty with it. Thanks.
