Adding new dimension - does data automatically shift down?

Upgrading from 9.3.1 to 11.1.2 and we are deciding whether or not to add a new dimesion to our data structure.

Currently we have products as our level 0 dimensions with Product Line as its summary parent (PL --> Products)

We want to add cost center UNDER products (PL --> Products --> Cost Center) to become the new level 0 dimension.

When adding the new cost center dimension is planning smart enough to push the level 0 data from the Product dimension to the newly created level 0 dimension?
