Adding more icons to Apex 5

While the iconset included in Apex 5 is great, and they constitute a valuable resource to enhance menu items -I love PiedPiper one-, I find sometimes hard to represent my application concepts within the included iconset.

Is it possible to add new icon subsets -for example icomoon-? Which is the simplest way to do it?
