Adding an End Date for all rate schedules in the CCS rate engine

Stephanie BurgessJul 3 2025 — edited Jul 14 2025

Currently, CCS does not support assigning an end date to rate schedules. We are requesting an enhancement that would allow both a start and end date to be defined for each rate. This would allow the utility to expire rates that are no longer valid and prevent them from being selected for future billing activity. For example, if a rate is effective from January 1, 2019, through January 1, 2025, we want to be able to put an end date of 1/1/2025 so that no active service agreements can be billed on this rate after 1/1/2025. This would help prevent user errors, such as a CSR accidentally selecting an outdated rate. At the same time, the system should still allow rebills using the expired rate if the rebill falls within the original rate’s valid date range. Implementing this change would improve billing accuracy, reduce manual corrections, and ensure rates are managed in alignment with their intended lifecycle.
