I have found this bug.
SQL Developer Data Modeler V23.1.0.087.0806-X64
- Open a design
- Double click on the design name in the browser. The Design Properties page opens.
- Select the “Naming Standard” in the navigation pane on the left. The “Naming Standard” pane appears on the right.
- Click the “Green Plus” button to add a new glossary. The “Select Glossary File” window appears.
- Browse to a directory to store a glossary file.
- Enter a name in the “File Name” text box, but DO NOT include the “.glossary” file extension with the file name as the file extension is shown in the “File Type” text box. eg. Enter “Test” as opposed to “Test.glossary”. The new glossary file is added to the list of glossary files.
- Double click the new glossary file. The “Glossary Properties” window opens.
- Enter details such as the “Name” and "Description" in the Text Boxes.
- Click the “Save” button. A dialog box appears stating the glossary has been saved. The dialog box states that the file was saved as “directory/filename.glossary” i.e. including the “.glossary” file extension, which is correct.
- Click the OK button. The new glossary file name has been added on the Naming Standard page, but it is missing the “.glossary” file extension.
The first part of this bug is that the glossary name and description entered into the Glossary Properties page is not updated on the Naming Standard page, they are left blank.
- 10. Double click on the the new glossary file again. The “Glossary Properties” page window opens, but the Name and Description entered in step 8 have disappeared.
- 11. Click the green add button, and navigate to the directory where the new glossary file was saved. The file name is displayed along with the “.glossary” file extension.
- 12. Select the file and open it. The Name and Description as entered previously are now displayed.
To summarise the bugs:
- The Name and Description fields on the Naming Standard page are not updated.
- The name of the file on the Naming Standard page does not include the “.glossary” file extension after it has been saved, unless the user enters it explicitly as part of the file name.
Hope this is all clear.
Regards.
John.
PS. Same problems exist in SQLDeveloper 23.1.1
