Adding a datafile on a new mount point primary, how does standby handle this?

user10209436Aug 15 2016 — edited Aug 16 2016

I need to add some new data files(not move them) to a new mount point on my primary db tier.  I've created the mount point on both the primary and the physical standby server.  If I go to add a new data file on this new mount point location on the Primary, will it automatically add the file on the standby as well in the new mount point location?  If not is there a note that explains this in more detail.  I have a very basic dataguard set up and I know when I've added data files before that it will create them on the standby but this is the first time I've created a new mount point to put new data files on so I'm not sure how the standby will react when I do this.  DB version is 10.2.0.4
