Current Issue:
Devices in “To Commission” (Proposed) status can currently be overridden to In-Service during a model build (when the device state changes in GIS) without any warning or log entry. This happens even though these devices have not been commissioned in NMS using the commissioning tool.
The absence of a warning in the model build log reduces visibility and traceability, making it difficult to identify which proposed devices were incorrectly overridden as in-service. This could lead to inconsistencies between Commissioning Switching Sheet steps and model.
Suggested Enhancement:
Add a warning entry in the model build log whenever a device in “To Commission” status is changed to In-Service during a model build.
This will:
- Improve traceability of device state changes.
- Help identify potential mistakes originating from GIS updates.
- Ensure better alignment between GIS and NMS commissioning processes.
