ActiveX Security update in IE

843807Apr 20 2006 — edited May 3 2006
Microsoft released a software update to Microsoft Internet Explorer 6
for Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) and for Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1). This update changes the way in which Internet Explorer handles Java applets in web ages.

After you install this update, you cannot interact with Java applets until the ActiveX controls calling the applets are enabled. To enable an ActiveX control, manually click the applet.

There is a temporary "undo" patch out there, but it will be discontinued in the next IE SP - scheduled for June. This renders some of our applet dependent applications almost unusable. Is there a solution for this upcoming?
