Hello.

I am testing 11.2 Active DG on linux rhel 5.4 boxes.

Here is an excerpt from V$ARCHIVE_DEST_STATUS for my destination


select status, type, database_mode, recovery_mode,protection_mode, srl, synchronization_status,synchronized, gap_status from V$ARCHIVE_DEST_STATUS where dest_id=2

In my test application i issue "alter session sync with primary" inside every transaction. Generally it works fine, but periodically i get several ORA-03173: Standby may not be synced with primary errors. It looks like it happens during log switches.
I sampled V$ARCHIVE_DEST_STATUS on primary for several minutes with centisecond interval to a table and every row shows that SYNCHRONIZATION_STATUS is OK. Also i dont see any error in standbys alert log.
How schould i monitor/control transport status on standby to aviod such kind of errors?
