ACTIVE-ACTIVE/ACTIVE-PASSIVE REPLICATION SOLUTIONS

All,

We have ORACLE MAA setup between 2 DC ( 2Node RAC) each site. But this provide us DR solution but does not provide us the HA. Specifically during DB Upgrade and PSU Patching. We can't afford a downtime of 5 minutes or more any time. Also we need to keep both DC in sync. We need to run our application on both side every month due to regulatory requirment.

Currently we are on 10G and will be moveing to 11G in near future. We have very high volum of transactions all the time.We are planing to use goldengate and start replication between two sites. In ACTIVE-PASSIVE replication active all the time.

Can any one comment on GG performance and issues , Faced during ACTIVE_PASSIVE or ACTIVE-ACTIVE Replication.
Also any other solution any one has used?

I have good idea regarding GG and Oracle. Just looking for different ideas before start working on solution and submit proposal for SI.
