"Access Denied" when I try to use jar.exe or jarsigner.exe

Penny 666Feb 4 2015 — edited Feb 4 2015

Is this a bug or a support issue?

I have been using Java for many years. I use javac.exe, jar.exe and jarsigner.exe to create my java applications.

Today I updated to JDK 1.8.0_31 but now when I try to make a jar file using jar.exe or sign a jar file using jarsigner.exe I get "Access Denied". javac continues to successfully compile my applications but without the use of jar.exe and jarsigner.exe I am dead in the water.

I havent found anything in any documentation about this bug or error experience.

I am wondering if someone could explain the cause of the problem, or if it is a bug, and so on.

My last thought, I will uninstall java and delete all the directories and then clean the registry if it is an error in there. The environment vars are clean. I cant imagine what could be cauing this bug.

I would really appreciate some help with this.

Many Thanks
