Access 10g Express from OutSide

Kodiak_SeattleFeb 20 2008 — edited Feb 20 2008
Oracle 10g EX seems like a good DB, but I can't access it from the outside. I have already logged in and made sure that Available from local server and remote clients is selected under Administration, Manage HTTP Access.

It is installed on 7.10 Ubuntu Linux. My Server has an internal IP address of 192.168.1.2 and a Router forwards http:// traffic from the real IP address over to 192.168.1.2

I can access it so far my server (Apache installed too):

http://hostname.net

or

http://realip

For Oracle this works:

http://192.168.1.2:8080/apex

but hostname and realip does not work in place of 192.168.1.2

What do I have to check and or change ?

To Add I use a NETGREAT ProSafe router and inside the router settings under Dynamic DNS I turned ON and activated the DynDNS.org service, I have that setup to keep a static hostname for DNS resolution.

but I should be able to access it with the real IP address like: http://REALIP:8080/apex

Any Ideas ?
