about OIM removing fields

Hi!All,
Now i need to remove a default field in OIM Administrative and User Console,eg,i want to remove the element of email in user form page,and i modified FormMetaData.xml for removing corresponding attribute reference.After restarting OIM server,when i viewed one user's info through user management menu,it prompted that system error appeared.should i need to modify any other files?
need ur help,thnax.
