a question on creating index on view

hi all

I got a problem on creating an index on view

create index sys_ixf_viewpnuc_03 on view_pnuc (ugcode||privatenum);

this is the sql I executed on pl/sql

the result from server is:
SQL Error: ORA-01702
01702. 00000 - "a view is not appropriate here"

pls give me a hand
