9i Installation problem Win XP

i am unable to install 9i .when i install a First Cd out of 3 ,it does'nt start automatically.I will use setup.exe
nothing comes on system after some time I get a error message
"Severe, unable to verify i suite product has not been set up correctly,probably because the installation was aborted.Please restartup"
help is highly apppreciated.
