Client is using a 4-5-4 retail calendar such that Fiscal year 2022, 2021, and 2020 represent the 52 weeks ended January 28, 2023, January 29, 2022, and February 1, 2020, respectively. We need to replicate this in Oracle financials through Manage accounting Calendar. We tried below different way and seeing the issues.
1. When selected Period frequency as 4/5/4 and Format "Period Number YY fiscal year" with start date 1/30/22 and End date 1/28/23, the year is getting auto-populating as 2023 and Period names are starting from 1-23 which is contradicting to the Calendar year (2022) and Period name (starting 1-22) in the current system. Not allowing to change the year.
2. When selected Period frequency as 4/5/4 and Format "Period Number YY Calendar year" with start date 1/30/22 and End date 1/28/23, the year is getting auto-populating as 2023 though Period name are starting 1-22. It Partially met the requirement in terms of Period name (1-22) but Year (2023) still contradicting with Current system calendar year 2022. Not allowing to change the year.
3. When selected Period frequency as "Other" and number of standard periods as "12" with start date 1/30/22 and End date 1/28/23, it is enabling us to provide the required years Manually and also facilitating to change the Period name. All line should be manually changed or provided though. But we observed that though the UI accepted the input and Showing "2022", the backend tables had additional column "FiscalYear" still showing "2023". We are not sure if this can show impact in the downstream like seeded reports, Inquiry balances, etc. Can you please help us understand the impact it might show, if any?
Kindly advise on how this requirement can be met? Attaching the screenshots for reference.
