401 unauthorized when accessing FavIcon.ico

1061222Jan 10 2018 — edited Jan 29 2018

I am working in DIPC(Data Integration Platform cloud service) cloud service.

When the product is running in OPC environment, if user logs in and access pages, following error is logged in the browser console

Request
URL:https://<dipc opc domain name>/favicon.ico

Method: GET
Status Code:401 Unauthorized

I have tried applying the fix suggested in this support link

https://support.oracle.com/epmos/faces/DocumentDisplay?_afrLoop=362890666073633&id=1242474.1&_afrWindowMode=0&_adf.ctrl-…

It suggests to place the icon in root dir. When I place, it was not working but it was working if I place it in images dir. 402 error is gone. Another issue with this solution is that same icon is requested every time user goes to new page. it looks it has to be cached. Do you have any idea about caching this icon? or any suggestion about another approach?

Regards,

Robert
