/3GB or /PAE switch for 32 bit oracle database on windows server 2003 with 10GB RAM

Hello,

I am new to DBA.

From last three days my client is getting below error in alert log::

ORA-04030 out of process memory when trying to allocate 2097196 bytes (joxp heap,f:oldSpace).

Oracle Database Version ::Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.1.0.5.0 32-bit

OS :: Windows Server 2003 32-bit

RAM :: 10 GB

As I know for 32- bit Windows and Oracle database we can assign 1.5 GB Memory. So I have assign 1315 MB to SGA_MAX_SIZE and 286 MB PGA.

To resolve this issue someone suggested me to use /3GB switch.

But after doing some analysis of /3GB switch I am confused that Server is having 10GB of RAM so what I have to use to allocate more memory either /3GB switch or /PAW switch?

How to decide whether I have to user /3GB or /PAE switch?

Seeking your help !!!!!

Thanks.
