32bit client for windows

gimmelyApr 14 2017 — edited Apr 17 2017

I hope I'm not the first or only person asking these questions, but can't find any existing discussions on these subjects.  (And yes, I'm new to Oracle in general.)

1. Does 12c R2 have such a client for Windows or not?  Related but a little different: Does 12c R2 support 32bit Windows?

This page, Oracle Database 12c Release 2 for Windows Downloads , lists "Oracle Database 12c Release 2 Client (12.2.0.1.0) for Microsoft Windows (32-bit)" in almost the same way as this page, Oracle Database 12c Release 1 (12.1.0.2.0) for Microsoft Windows (x64) , lists "Oracle Database Client (12.1.0.2.0) for Microsoft Windows (32-bit)".

However, this page, https://docs.oracle.com/database/122/NTCLI/toc.htm , doesn't list 32bit client for 12c R2, while this page, https://docs.oracle.com/database/121/nav/portal_11.htm , does list 32bit client for 12c R1.

So, what's the deal here?

2. Is it supported to run 32bit client on Windows 2012 R2?

Both 12c R1 and 11g say Windows 2008 for 32bit clients, with Windows 2012 R2 mentioned only for 64bit clients.
