Leonardo summarized the proposal presented at the Eclipse IoT Working Group on August 16 to move forward with starting new JSRs targeting Java ME and SE, based on IP already developed from open source projects with Eclipse IoT projects to gauge interest by the community on the platforms and move Java forward in the IoT space.
Heather suggested we follow up with them for feedback since the response at the Working Group meeting on August 16 was positive. Heather also suggested we include some IoT projects in the Hackergarten at JavaOne and promote the sessions that Florian and Matt described in the IoT space happening during the week. We also discussed that we should continue to explore OpenJDK related projects to engage the community during JavaOne and beyond.
Next Steps
Florian and Matt to send Heather list of sessions. Heather to publish update to the JCP at JavaOne article.
Leo to arrange for projects in the hackergarten.
Heather to follow up with Eclipse IoT WG.
Next meeting time will be September 20 at 9 am PDT – review JavaOne activities and any feedback/interest.
