2 GB of space but can't add 70K LOB due to 01691 LOB Error
645510Jun 18 2008 — edited Jun 18 2008We're experiencing a strange problem at a customer site. We're getting a "ORA-01691: unable to extend lob segment" error when adding a row which includes a LOB of some 70K. However the tablespace is 2GigaByes and less than 1% full!
All the suggestions for this error come down to either extending the tablespace or defragmenting the space.
Also, we were able to copy the database (via exp/imp) to another server and had experienced no errors loading 2MB files via exactly the same process.
The Oracle server is 9.2.0.7.0
We'd greatly appreciate any insight as to what may be the cause for this error.
