12c installation hangs

new Windows 7 Ultimate installation, all windows updates installed.

Oracle setup file: winx64_12102_database_1of2.zip

Software installation only, single instance

Hangs at 69%: updating registry key HKEY_LOCALMACHINE_SOFTWARE...

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
