12143 TNS Error adding connection to Oracle Explorer
480883Jan 5 2006 — edited Oct 12 2006Just installed ODT and I'm trying my first connection in VS Oracle Explorer.
I am connect to the HR test database on a server (not local). I set up the service name in the Net Manager and tested it, it works fine. Had a inhouse oracle guru look at my tnsnames.ora and sqlnet.ora files and we did a successful tnsping.
When I open the Oracle Explorer in VS and Add Connection, the Data source name shows the service name I set up, I enter the test username Scott, pwd tiger and click Test conneciton and receive the error ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified.
Where do I go from here???
